TrackTown USA to be a recipient of World Athletics Championships Oregon22 legacy grant

EUGENE, Ore. – Continuing its commitment to youth programs in the state of Oregon, the local organizing committee of the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 developed a legacy grant of $275,000, to be pledged to the youth development initiatives of TrackTown USA.

The funds for this grant were a programmatic and financial priority for WCH Oregon22 in demonstration of the local organizing committee’s dedication to growing the sport of track and field in the next generation. Aligned in prioritizing youth development, TrackTown USA is thrilled to be one recipient of such an impactful grant that will benefit the next wave of track and field participants for years to come.

“This legacy grant will enable even more boys and girls to experience the magic of Hayward Field at the University of Oregon,” says TrackTown USA CEO Michael Reilly. “The generosity of the Oregon22 local organizing committee and its impact on our community cannot be overstated. TrackTown USA is committed to honoring the spirit of this grant through increased initiatives, access, and programming for youth in our sport.”

Youth programs in the state of Oregon are a critical pathway to heralding the future of the sport, and this endowment is a reflection of that. It ensures the legacy of WCH Oregon22 is one that continues to support the residents of Oregon and creates and expands opportunities for the younger generation to engage with track and field in meaningful ways. TrackTown USA is proud to build upon that legacy through strategic programming that benefits youth.

“As the WCH Oregon22 event chapter closes, we are ecstatic that the event’s legacy will live on through this grant to help empower the work of such fantastic local, not-for-profit organizations in our community,” says WCH Oregon22 Board of Directors Chair Paul Weinhold. “WCH Oregon22 prioritized a commitment to youth throughout the lead-up to the event, during the event, and beyond. This grant ensures that priority remains.”
